Next time you need a mental spa - try surfing through various online photologs to take you places you've been before and never will see. Here is a current round-up of photo blogs and photography sites I like.

Blue Ear Forum Remains Best

Of the many posting forums and sites that feature political commentary, the best global source I know of is www.blueear.com The following is what is self-described on the home page of the site: "Blue Ear is a global community of writers and readers who meet online in a daily edited discussion, sorted and archived in categories analogous to the sections of a newspaper. Blue Ear aspires to both the authority and the intimacy of the once-great British weekly paper The Observer, whose editor David Astor said, "I edit The Observer for myself and my friends." You may read online, but some articles (usually the archived responses and older posts) may be accessed only by members. I suscribe at no charge to the email delivery of posts, usually a total of three at most per day, with about 10 posts on various topics. The posts are so worthwhile, that I often 'save to file' some of the most thoughtful writings. This is one place where those of differing political opinion may be gathered to discuss in a civil way those matters of most crisis and concern. ... Link

"By Jonathan Wright,BR>Imagine this! Yahoo News featured this story! The Guardian Unlimited in UK has been "on it" all along, as well as many blogger sites. There are several mirror sites site up on blogspot and other hosts now. One blogger posted a screen shot of the Yahoo headline of their story "in case it suddenly was OFF the news links". A friend of mine from Europe posted last night to say she checked his blog and saw a "test message", and then looked back in on it and the "test" was gone. This is an interesting feature of blogs and the Net - how things can be published and then vanished, without a trace UNLESS other alert bloggers will copy the html and screen display. What a useful feature - now you see it, now you don't!
