Twin Posts of Politics and War
Molly Ivins on the Texas Democrats vs. Republicans...righteous, LOL! No one does it better than our Molly on Texas politics. It seems that the Democrats in the Texas legislature unanimously fled the state to prevent a quorum attendance where the Republicans planned to vote in gerrymandered re-districting all through the state, but particularly in Austin, the state capital. One new boundary for the new plans for districts would have included a 200 mile long strip of land to "connect" Austin to southern Texas near Brownsville. This would have gotten a predominantly-Republican neighborhood to be physically next to a southern stretch of Texas where there were also many Republicans! The plan would have as many as seven brand new Republicans as representatives to the US Congress! Will be back to tell you "what happened" when the week ends... Bucking the Texas Lockstep

Those interested in doing or experiencing: Photo.net by Phil Greenspun is a terrific resource. I have started my own free account there with space for 100 photos. You may choose to allow your images to be up for review and critique. You will have to register the kind of camera you use, but don't worry, there is everything imaginable out there in a pull-down selection menu. Including "I don't know" and the "Cheap nikon supplied by my school". I can't say enough about this site! Go look! Go look now! I mean it - Git! ... Link

Just for grins, am wondering if anyone reading this blog will comment or contact me? I have a blog I just loooooove, and it is this one on antville.org! Have several on the blogspot/blogger site and a few through Web Crimson and bravepages.com. And then there is the free mysitespace.com one, and the website I pay for and the free msn.com groups and .... hey wait! Most of what I have is using freeware, shareware, or sites with easy templates! There may be a market for my newsletter that I plan to launch in July as a subscription newsletter that goes to reader inboxes in their email account. In connection with this, private and group instruction, use of web message forums and posting of documents and images will piece together a rudimentary business that will have to have it's own blog, probably converted from one I already have. Wonder if there is interest in an article about a geekess on the road is able to do significant business of all types with public library computers...????? There is a comment feature I supply with each posting here....and BTW, thanks antville! ... Link Next page |
