Excellent short read today on the Bush Executuve Order on Iraq's Resources/Oil: Unilaterally declaring "a national emergency," Bush wrote: Any "judicial process is prohibited, and shall be deemed null and void with respect to . . . all Iraqi petroleum and petroleum products, and interests therein . . . in which any foreign country or a national thereof has any interest, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons."

In 1999, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI suspended information-service contracts with an earlier Asher-run company due to his involvement in a drug smuggeling operation. Another player is former Secret Service head Brian Stafford who recently went to work as a senior executive at Seisint._ _ _ _ _ The original Post article on August 5, in the Washington Post TechNews.com section: U.S. Backs Florida's New Counterterrorism Database 'Matrix' Offers Law Agencies Faster Access to Americans' Personal Records By Robert O'Harrow Jr. Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, August 6, 2003; Page A01 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A21872-2003Aug5.html ...
